New Sermon On Demand!
In the sermon, I endorse reading the book The Kindness Challenge. If you have a strained relationship in your life—and we all do—this book can help! As a pastor, I love books that draw upon objective data to confirm what we already know through scripture. THIS is one of those books! Author Shaunti Feldhahn gives us a practical, three-step guide to improving any relationship in thirty days that's based upon her research.
Because I preached on Father's Day, I especially had our family relationships in mind. Let's face it, family relationships can be HARD. Tempers can flare, and we can experience strain EVEN WHEN we think we are doing the right thing (thank you, teenagers). Trust me when I say, I have been there, and this book can help.
Proverbs 14:1 reads, "The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down." I want this scripture to challenge me—what can I do to protect what I am working so hard to build in my family, Lord?
I invite you to listen to this sermon as I tackle a challenging biblical text and initial question: Does Christian kindness demand that we be a doormat? No is the answer, but listen to find out why. And as we explore the agency Christ asks of us, we have powerful next steps from Shaunti's book.
